Base pads for Beretta 96

The base pad on the 96 magazine does the same two things as on any pistol: adds the mass that helps the magazine drop cleanly on release, and provides the geometry that closes the magwell funnel if a magwell is fitted. The 96 is the .40 S&W version of the 92 frame, and its magazine uses different internal and base dimensions from the 9mm 92 family magazines -- base pads for the 96 are calibre-specific. Competition use of the 96 in .40 S&W classes means the reload is still timed; the base pad still matters.
